“The Veil” Celebrates Theatrical and On-Demand Releases

On August 11, 2017, the Oklahoma-produced feature film “The Veil” celebrates its release in theatres as well as on-demand platforms. The film marks the feature-length directorial debut of Oklahoma City native Brent Ryan Green (Martin Scorsese’s “Silence”, “I Can Only Imagine”) and is being released by Vertical Entertainment.

International star William Levy (“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”, “Girls Trip”) takes on the lead role in this sci-fi adventure film, which co-stars William Mosley (“The Royals”, “The Chronicles of Narnia”) and Serinda Swan (“Tron: Legacy”, “Ballers”).

Set in a war-torn land where tribal factions live in fear of annihilation, “The Veil” tells the story of a deadly warrior (Levy) spearheading a destructive war campaign. When he is betrayed by his own and left for dead, a mysterious princess of an unknown tribe heals him and sets out to persuade him to wage one final battle.

The limited theatrical release of “The Veil” includes markets in California, New York, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Florida, Michigan and Oklahoma, where it will locally screen at AMC Quail Springs Mall Cinemas in Oklahoma City. Simultaneously, the film will be available on-demand and digital platforms including Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, Sony Playstation, Cox, Dish and DirecTV to name a few.

“The Veil” was shot entirely in Oklahoma utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO). A number of the state’s most scenic and diverse locations are represented on-screen including Turner Falls, Red Rock Canyon State Park and the Wichita Buffalo Ranch.

“Our office wishes to congratulate Brent Ryan Green and the entire cast/crew of ‘The Veil’ as they celebrate their release,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “The film marks one of the most ambitious projects to have been produced in Oklahoma in terms of genre and setting. We’re thrilled ‘The Veil’ will showcase Oklahoma’s diverse, transformative landscapes as well as serve as an example of the variety of project types for which Oklahoma can set the scene.”
