The Oklahoma Film + Music Office to Participate in March Film Festivals

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to sponsor two local film festivals this month with the inaugural Sunny Side Up Film Festival in Ardmore and the BisonBison Film Festival in Ponca City.

Embracing the heart and spirit of independent films, the Sunny Side Up Film Festival is a competitive event for emerging filmmakers and screenwriters established to inspire and encourage bold, artistic achievements in film. Screenings will take place March 24 and 25 at the Goddard Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The festival is proud to welcome special guest Gray Frederickson, the local Academy Award-winning producer of “The Godfather” and “Apocalypse Now”. Frederickson will be featured at Saturday’s festival award ceremony where he will speak and present two special awards that share his namesake for the “Best Oklahoma Made Film” and the “Best 1st Time Filmmaker”.

The BisonBison Film Festival returns to Ponca City, Oklahoma, for its fourth year on March 30 and 31. OF+MO is proud to be a returning sponsor of this event that recognizes, promotes and showcases the work of emerging student filmmakers enrolled in academic programs in the Mid-America region. This year’s festival will feature 28 films in festival competition as well as free educational workshops, which are open to the public and led by local filmmaker Ryan Bellgardt (“The Adventures of Jurassic Pet”) of Boiling Point Media and SAG-AFTRA DFW Local Executive Director Trish Avery. Ticketed screenings will take place at the historic Poncan Theatre beginning Friday, March 30, while the free workshops will be held Saturday morning at the Phillips 66 Clubhouse.
