The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is pleased to announce that Oklahoma is featured in the second episode of the third season of the award-winning hit series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino (“Gilmore Girls”), the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning series stars Rachel Brosnahan (“House of Cards”) in the titular role of Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a New York City housewife in 1958 who discovers she has a knack for stand-up comedy. “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” boasts an all-star supporting cast, including Alex Borstein (“Getting On”), Tony Shalhoub (“Monk”), Michael Zegen (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Marin Hinkle (“Two and a Half Men”).
After months of scouting the state, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” filmed a variety of Oklahoma landscapes in McClain and Osage County in March with the assistance of the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, Clearwater Buffalo Ranch, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and local county authorities.
“Now, more than ever before, Oklahoma is a thriving hub of talented artists who are excited to usher film and television production teams into our local creative culture,” said Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell. “We proudly welcome this Emmy award-winning series to Oklahoma where our strong base of dedicated crew and talent continues to strengthen as more productions such as ‘Maisel’ share their knowledge and experience with local industry members.”
“The exposure a production of this caliber brings to our state’s film industry, locations and talent is invaluable,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “We appreciate the opportunity to work with Amazon Studios and showcase a slice of what Oklahoma has to offer – and look forward to future collaborations with the company.”
