“Infamous” (previously “Southland”) Now Filming in Oklahoma

Lucidity Entertainment, SSS Entertainment and Southland Movie, LLC, in association with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), are pleased to announce production is underway for “Infamous” (previously know as “Southland”), an independent feature film utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by OF+MO.

Written and directed by Joshua Caldwell (“Layover”), “Infamous” is a gritty, crime drama that tells the story of two young lovers who rob their way across the southland, posting their exploits to social media and gaining fame and followers along the way. The film stars Bella Thorne (“Famous in Love”, “Assassination Nation”), Jake Manley (“The Order”, “A Dog’s Journey”), Amber Riley (“Glee”, “Nobody’s Fool”) and Michael Sirow (“Jack Goes Home”, “Above the Shadows”).

“I could not have shot ‘Infamous’ anywhere but in Oklahoma. Its geographical diversity allows it to stand in for a multitude of other locations, including Florida and Texas, and the land on which this state rests is both haunting and beautiful,” said Writer/Director Caldwell. “Furthermore, I have found in the people here a warmth and desire to help and contribute. They have opened their homes and their businesses to us, lending the film an authenticity you could never fake, and for that I am forever grateful.”

“Infamous” began principal photography in Guthrie on July 12, 2019, and will continue throughout the month filming in multiple communities in the central Oklahoma region.

“For many producers who are unfamiliar with filming in Oklahoma, it’s simply a matter of getting them to our state to see firsthand the diversity of our locations, the hospitality of our communities, and the skilled talent of our local industry members,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “These valuable factors, paired with the necessity of the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program, provide the ideal setting for films such as ‘Infamous’ to work in our state, and we’re incredibly grateful to all who have graciously accommodated the production thus far.”
