Pure Flix Entertainment and the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) are pleased to announce the start of production on the comedy series “The Beverlys” in Oklahoma.
“The Beverlys” is an eight-episode original, scripted family comedy written by Zenobia Groves, Evelyn Preston and Tommy Blaze that centers around a small town girl (Christian music artist Jamie Grace) who mentors three young orphan girls dreaming of starting their own music group. While living in a Hollywood mansion owned by a failed record exec (complete with a butler), the young girls learn valuable lessons about kindness and humility through love and hilarity.
“The Beverlys” is filming entirely in northern Oklahoma City, and will wrap production in mid-December. The series will stream on Pureflix.com, a subsidiary of Pure Flix Entertainment, the worldwide leader in faith-based and family entertainment in 2019. Producing the show is Brent Ryan Green of Toy Gun Films in Oklahoma City.
“I’m so excited to be filming in my home state again,” said Green. “Thanks to the rebate program we are able to attract shows like ‘The Beverlys’ to Oklahoma. Originally the show was set to shoot in Los Angeles, but because of the thriving film rebate and dedicated crew in Oklahoma I was able to convince the studio to shoot here instead. They have been blown away by what Oklahoma has to offer with plans to bring more production to our state.”
“We’re honored to work with Oklahoma’s own Brent Ryan Green and Pure Flix Entertainment on this series,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “We hope this is the first of many seasons for ‘The Beverlys’ as the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program’s extension through 2024 was a crucial element in bringing this production to our state. We are thankful for the spotlight the series will shine on our local film industry as well as the jobs and positive impact it will create before the holiday season.”
