Oklahoma Film + Music Office Hosts Pitch-A-Thon with Presenting Partnership at SeriesFest

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to be a returning partner of SeriesFest, an award-winning annual independent television pilot festival based in Denver, Colorado, which will be held virtually June 18-24, 2020.

Dedicated to showcasing innovative episodic content and championing artists at the forefront of such independent programming, SeriesFest inspires, educates and connects a worldwide community of creators through its initiatives and programs. This year’s festival will include six days of must-stream special events, premieres and innovative talks and panels with talent and industry executives from BBC America, NBC, Paramount, CBS Digital, Blumhouse, Propagate Content, Paramount and many more.

SeriesFest: Season 6 will celebrate its kick-off event on June 18 with an opening night screening of the new STARZ drama “P-Valley”, followed by a live streaming Q+A panel with the series’ stars and Creator/Showrunner Katori Hall. Additional special events featuring cast and creatives include BBC America’s “Killing Eve”, Represent US’s “Unbreaking America”, Participant Media’s “City So Real”, Outdoor Channel’s “Farming the Wild” and Sportsman Channel’s “DeadMeat”.

OF+MO’s partnership with SeriesFest provides the opportunity to promote the State of Oklahoma as a top filming destination as a sponsor and co-host of the festival’s PITCH-A-THON, alongside The Working Artist Group. This event allows independent content creators the opportunity to participate in an exclusive live pitch session with top television, new media and digital executives in hopes of moving their projects forward. The winner of the PITCH-A-THON will receive a $500 cash prize. SeriesFest pass holders may stream the PITCH-A-THON live via the festival’s website with their login information on Friday, June 19, at 5:30 p.m. MDT / 6:30 p.m. CST.

In addition to the PITCH-A-THON, OF+MO will also present “COVID-19 and The Altered Entertainment Landscape”, a panel conversation with innovative network leaders on the front lines of the new frontier of entertainment discussing how television is moving forward in response to the current coronavirus outbreak. Featured panelists include Jeremy Gold (Co-President, Blumhouse Television), Howard Owens (Founder and Co-CEO, Propagate Contest), Marc Juris (President & General Manager, WE tv) and Jenny Daly (President, Critical Content). SeriesFest pass holders may stream this panel live via the festival’s website with their login information on Sunday, June 21, at 6:00 p.m. MDT / 7:00 p.m. CST.

“Having attended last year’s SeriesFest for the first time, I can confidently say this event is one of the most valuable ways to showcase Oklahoma’s film, television and music industries among some of the industry’s most seasoned and up-and-coming film and television professionals,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “OF+MO is proud to be a returning sponsor of the festival, and have an expanded footprint to virtually connect with and educate new audiences.”

“We are so thankful for our continued partnership with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office at this critical time for the organization,” said SeriesFest Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Randi Kleiner. “In this unprecedented time, we feel it is critical to celebrate artistic expression and champion the creators who make their voices heard. More than ever before, we see the need to bring the creative community together and ‘Fest Differently’. The Oklahoma Film + Music Office is a true champion of artists from around the country as they continue to build Oklahoma as a destination for production.”
