Nathan Gardocki Productions (NGP) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will host a three-day film production workshop May 17-19, 2019, for film and media students. Attendees will participate in the production of a short film while learning from several of Oklahoma’s industry leading professionals.
This workshop will take place partially at NGP, Oklahoma’s largest video equipment rental house, and partially on the set of an active production in Oklahoma City. Participants will get hands-on experience and training with many of the necessary tools used in film and television production, while learning a wide variety of skills, techniques and terms commonly used on set. Attendees will also have the opportunity to work with industry-standard equipment in various departments, including camera, electric/lighting, grip and more.
“Having worked in the Oklahoma film industry now for 12 years, I’ve come to realize that Oklahoma filmmakers are as talented and hard-working as anyone in the country, and they deserve all the opportunities that our great state has to offer,” said Nathan Gardocki, President/Owner Nathan Gardocki Productions. “This workshop series provides a controlled setting for students and working professionals to connect with experienced filmmakers who are not only eager to spread their knowledge but are also in a position to potentially recommend or hire these filmmakers in the future. Workshop opportunities like these are critical to workforce development in any industry because they promote an atmosphere for industry members to mutually exchange their ‘tricks of the trade’ while encouraging all attendees to hone their skills.”
This workshop is open to any college student, career tech student, or high school senior, as well as working professionals. Preference will be given to those actively enrolled in a film or media program in the state of Oklahoma.
Start times will be determined at a later date. Cost of participation is $200.00. A $50.00 discount will be applied to all students that provide proof of enrollment. Scholarships are available. Deadline for registration is April 30, 2019.
