Made in Oklahoma Wine, Beer and Food Festival Announces Music Lineup

The Made in Oklahoma (MIO) Wine, Beer and Food Festival, along with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) are delighted to announce the music lineup for the MIO Festival, which will take place May 30, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel at the Reed Conference Center. In its fourth year, MIO and OF+MO held an open call for entries for the “Live from the Lawn” music series, having 85 artists apply. The “Live from the Lawn” event showcases the homegrown talent produced by Oklahoma artists and provides bands an opportunity to gain exposure, network with business owners and sample the fine wine, beer and food items that Oklahoma has to offer.

“Our partnership with OF+MO over the past two years has proven to strengthen the MIO Festival by bringing talented artists to the festival we may not have otherwise had the opportunity to host. There’s just something about having a diversified lineup of great homegrown talent that sets our festival apart from others and we have OF+MO to thank for that,” said Melanie Voice, Special Events & Marketing Manager for Midwest City Parks & Recreation.

The indoor stage will feature Erin O’Dowd, Southern Rift, Annie Oakley, Joe Wilson, Autumn Ray and Rachel Brashear; while the outdoor stage will feature The Stockyard Playboys, Allie Lauren, Redwood Rising, Shawna Russell, Maggie McClure, Shane Henry and KALO. For show times, please visit the MIO entertainment page.

“OF+MO is proud to be a returning sponsor of the MIO Festival. The opportunities associated with this festival allow attendees of the event to experience first-hand the talents of the fine people that make up our great state. The open call for musicians our office hosts with MIO is a prime example of the avenues we use to spotlight our diverse Oklahoma musicians and connect them with other community partners,” said Tava Maloy Sofsky, OF+MO Director.

The MIO Festival offers an extensive variety of wine and beer samples from local producers as well as food tastings and culinary delights from several of Oklahoma’s premier restaurants. Attendees will have the opportunity to shop the unique selection of merchandise, products and art from several Made in Oklahoma vendors as well as participate in culinary presentations, The Great Grilled Cheese Challenge, Cruisin’ with Cops car show and Wine and Palette art classes.

Admission is free for the festival. Fees will apply to participate in the Grilled Cheese Challenge and the Wine & Palette class. For more information about MIO, please visit madeinoklahomafestival.com.
