HBO to Film “Bill Maher: Live from Oklahoma” in Tulsa

Home Box Office Inc., in association with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), is proud to announce Comedian Bill Maher’s upcoming stand-up show at Tulsa’s historic Brady Theater will be broadcast live Saturday, July 7, exclusively on HBO.

Known for his unique, humorous perspective on contemporary issues, “Bill Maher: Live from Oklahoma” marks the comedian’s fourth performance at the Brady Theater and his 11th solo comedy special for HBO. Maher will serve as an Executive Producer for the special alongside Neal Marshall, Marc Gurvitz and Beth McCarthy-Miller, who also serves as the program’s Director.

“Bill Maher: Live from Oklahoma” will utilize the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by OF+MO and marks HBO’s first project in Oklahoma to qualify for the state’s film incentive.

“After years of working to recruit various projects from HBO, we’re thrilled the company will be broadcasting Bill Maher’s comedy special from Oklahoma,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “This is the first live television comedy special of its kind to utilize the state’s rebate program. We hope this is the first of many HBO projects to come as their network will provide worldwide exposure for the State of Oklahoma and its film industry.”
