Today is the final day to register for the Film Education Institute of Oklahoma’s (FEIO) 2021 Summer Film Production Workshop, which will take place July 5-8, 2021, at Prairie Surf Studios in Oklahoma City.
The FEIO is dedicated to increasing Oklahoma’s workforce through education. This summer workshop creates an environment that fosters growth with hands-on training while participants create a short film inside Prairie Surf Studios. FEIO has partnered with Nathan Gardocki Productions (NGP) to ensure that the equipment is up to standard and is at the cutting edge of what is used to make movies today. Prairie Surf Media is a key partner for the FEIO and serves as a mutually beneficial relationship to strengthen the state’s workforce.
Trevor Rogers, Executive Director of the FEIO, has been coordinating and producing workshops for the past five years.
“Our workshops are designed to place you on an actual film set with Oklahoma’s best and brightest crew members,” said Rogers. “The professional crew that serves as the instructors for this workshop are the future colleagues of all those in attendance. It is incredibly exciting to continue our mission of developing Oklahoma’s workforce by connecting students to the industry.”
These workshops not only allow students to gain experience on a real-life film set, but to network with others in this industry that will be their eventual colleagues. These professionals have hundreds of years combined experience on some of the largest productions here in Oklahoma and around the world.
An ally and advocate for filmmakers, FEIO works to ensure that Oklahoma has a place in the worldwide filmmaking community for years to come and the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to partner with FEIO on this summer’s production workshop.
“Now is the perfect time to find your place within Oklahoma’s film and television industry as we head into one of our most robust seasons of production in our state,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “We’re incredibly proud of the opportunities for workforce training, education and development the Film Education Institute of Oklahoma is providing for the next generation of our state’s film industry workforce.”
Interested parties are encouraged to register for the summer 2021 FEIO Film Workshop immediately as available spots are quickly filling up with registration ending TODAY, June 14.
