Fanswell Helps to Make Booking Live Music Easier

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to connect Oklahoma artists with Fanswell, a new online concert booking platform featured in Pitchfork, Southern Living and Huffington Post.

Oklahoma native Graham Colton and Los Angeles resident Jon Cooper joined forces in 2012 to create Fanswell. With Fanswell, musicians let fans know when and where they want to play while the website provides easy ways for fans to respond, discuss details and choose how to pay. Typically Fanswell shows are not open to the public as most hosts limit their shows to their invited guests. It’s up to the host if he or she wants to open the guest list to the artist’s fans.

Fanswell has had an immediate impact on the Oklahoma music scene already powering bookings for several events ranging from small house concerts to large street festivals. The platform matches local and national artists looking for gigs with willing hosts and bookers needing quality talent at their place. “Coffee shops, art galleries, retail locations, bars, clubs, theaters and living rooms are all places where live music SHOULD happen,” says Colton. “And we make it happen!”

“Some of my favorite memories of listening to music growing up are the intimate concert type settings in homes or smaller venues. Fanswell is driving this home, where the real connectivity in sharing music comes alive in those smaller house concerts. We wish Fanswell all the best and encourage all Oklahoma artists to register with Fanswell and embrace new opportunities for your music,” said Tava Maloy Sofsky, director of OF+MO.

While Fanswell is designed primarily for private, fan-booked events, the website can also serve as an easy way for Oklahoma venues to book touring artists. Registration for artists, venues and fans is FREE!
