City of Stroud Achieves Film Friendly Certification

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), in conjunction with the City of Stroud, is proud to announce the city has achieved film friendly certification after completing the requirements for OF+MO’s Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program.

“The City of Stroud is excited to join the state and other film friendly communities in expanding artistic and economic opportunities for our citizens and guests in Oklahoma,” said City of Stroud Director of Neighborhood Enhancement David Timmons.

The first city in both Lincoln and Creek Counties to achieve ‘film friendly’ certification, the City of Stroud is a must-see stop on Route 66. Located halfway between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, the state’s two largest production hubs, Stroud offers a number of attractive locations to filmmakers and visitors, including the historic Rock Café, scenic Stroud Lake and a number of local wineries, such as Stableridge Vineyards & Winery.

“Through the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program, it’s been particularly rewarding for our office to establish new working relationships with statewide communities like Stroud who are eager to recruit film and television productions to their regions,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “As such, we’re thrilled to welcome Stroud to our growing list of ‘film friendly’ communities throughout Oklahoma, and we look forward to promoting their community as we move forward in positioning the state as a top destination for film and television production.”
