“Army of Frankensteins” Now Available on DVD

Shout! Factory in association with Six Stitches Entertainment and Boiling Point Media is proud to announce the release of the Oklahoma-made film “Army of Frankensteins” on DVD, Blu-ray, On-Demand and digital retailers beginning Tuesday, September 1.

Directed, produced and co-written by native Oklahoman Ryan Bellgardt, the film tells the story of Alan Jones who, after a failed attempt to propose to his girlfriend, is mysteriously transported back in time to the era of the Civil War. In this new parallel universe, a mad scientist attempts to re-animate the legendary creature Frankenstein. Alan must now fight for his life among an army of Frankensteins who will forever change 19th century history in the infamous war between the North and the South.

“Army of Frankensteins” was filmed throughout Oklahoma in 2013 at locations such as Calumet, the Constantine Theatre in Pawhuska and the historic city of Arcadia, which doubled as 19th century Washington D.C. The film extensively utilized Oklahoma cast and crew members and has enjoyed a successful, award-winning run on the film festival circuit with showings at the deadCENTER Film Festival, Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival and Florida Supercon Super Geek Film Festival, where it won “Best Fantasy Film.”

To celebrate the release of the film, a special comedy-infused riff screening will be held on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Will Rogers Theatre, 4322 N. Western Ave. Comedians Spencer Hicks, Lucas Ross, Joel Decker and Michael Corley will join the film’s cast and crew as they lampoon the comedy-horror film in the vein of RiffTrax and Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

“I couldn’t be more excited that our movie is being released on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and On-Demand all over North America,” said Bellgardt. “We honestly had no expectations when we started and to see the movie available at places like Amazon, Barnes and Noble or Best Buy is very cool for us. I’m really proud of everyone who helped bring this project to life (pun intended).”
