The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) is proud to be a returning sponsor for the 23rd annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival (WoodyFest) taking place July 14, 18 & 19, 2020. In lieu of a physical festival this year, the Woody Guthrie Coalition has made the decision to host a free three-day event that will feature over 100 performing artists along with several family-friendly events throughout the weekend in honor of the late folk hero.
The 2020 festival will host an all-star lineup, including Guthrie family members along with Oklahoma musicians Ali Harter, Carter Sampson, Kyle Reid, Jabee, Red Dirt Rangers, Ken Pomeroy and many more.
Songwriters and aspiring songwriters are invited to tune in for the fifth annual WoodyFest Songwriting Workshop, presented by OF+MO and hosted by Ellis Paul, a veteran WoodyFest performer and seasoned singer/songwriter and folk musician. This workshop will take place on Zoom Saturday, July 18 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Registration is $24 and closes at noon on Friday, July 17.
OF+MO will also present the “Native Music of Oklahoma” panel moderated by Tulsa filmmaker Sterlin Harjo, who was recently appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Hugh Foley, a widely respected Oklahoma music historian, with guests Samantha Crain, Jula Harjo, Kylee Robison, Johnny Akeketa, Nokosee Fields & K-OSS. This panel will also take place Saturday, July 18, at 4:00 p.m.

Donations will be accepted for future programming with a portion given to the Red Dirt Relief Fund and the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
