Music Artist for April 2018: Emily Faith

Emily Faith has grown up performing on the local Opry stages in Oklahoma and Texas, which explains her love for country music. Strongly influenced by the sounds of Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, she soon began exploring and embracing many different musical genres, which led to the development of her own unique style of country infused with a little Pop, Blues and Rock N Roll. Faith will tell you “Like Splatter Paint, my music defines many sides of me”.
A singer/songwriter with many talents, Faith began writing when she was eight years old and has a diverse catalog of songs she has penned. She has worked with Ken Caillat, former producer for Fleetwood Mac, and just finished a new album under the direction of Warner’s Zac Maloy with several top line writers on the project.

Spring 2017, Faith opened a 50-city nationwide tour for the Newsboys and became a featured artist on Radio Disney. In the past she has opened shows for President George W. Bush, Marty Stuart, Sawyer Brown, and Bryan White. She has performed at many historic sites across the country such as Tootsies, Bluebird Café, SXSW, House of Blues, Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, Six Flags and Disneyland. This young lady has mounted an exceptional bio that attests to her hard work and dedication.
Faith was named the Oklahoma and North American Country Music Associations Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year for five consecutive years and was recently named the 2018 Miss OKC Bricktown’s Outstanding Teen.

With a deep passion for volunteerism she frequently donates her time helping with the American Heart Association, Oklahoma Cancer Society, the Make A Wish Foundation and speaking about her platform “Write Your Own Story” encouraging kids to be proud of who they are and champions of their own diversities and talents. She was recently honored when the Oklahoma City Go Red for Women Campaign chose her song “Write Your Own Story” as their theme song.

“Many legendary musicians call Oklahoma home and I am proud to call myself an Okie and be a part of such a supportive music scene. From, pop, indie, folk, country and everything in between we tend to draw our creativity from the rich heritage of our state. Okies are generous, kind and supportive people and I am proud to have grown up here. After all, as musicians we are all “Writing Our Own Stories”, so let’s make it the best story we can!” said Faith.

In her spare time you will find this little theater buff and sports fan working with various Oklahoma theater groups in a wide variety of lead roles she has landed or performing the National Anthem at numerous events, including the OKC Thunder games, PBR or NASCAR.
