Featured Locations for June 2016: Spaulding Park and Erly Rush Coffeehouse

A staple of the community of Muskogee for nearly 100 years, Spaulding Park (pictured above) is home to some of the first publicly planted trees in the city spread over 19 acres. Named after pioneer Muskogee merchant Homer B. Spaulding, the park offers many amenities including picnic areas, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a multi-purpose trail, gazebo, basketball courts, fishing dock and more.

Coffee enthusiasts can savor the flavor and charm of Erly Rush Coffee House, now with two locations in Muskogee. Owner Nicholas Wilks named the establishment after his grandmother who he called “Erly” as a young child. The coffee house’s original location in Muskogee’s downtown antiques district offer visitors the chance to refuel and recharge before the rush of an early day.
