This month’s featured locations offer a crash course exploring Oklahoma’s rich film history. Located on Oklahoma City’s Film Row in the historic building once occupied by Paramount Pictures, the aptly named Paramount is a one-stop shop for film enthusiasts offering monthly screenings for its members and hosting local film premieres and events. Additionally, The Paramount houses an event space and local production companies and offices. Since 1928, Tulsa’s iconic Circle Cinema (pictured above) serves as the city’s longest running historic movie theatre offering moviegoers the opportunity to indulge in the latest art-house independent, foreign and documentary films. Both Circle Cinema and The Paramount are incredibly supportive of local films and filmmakers often screening local works and serving as on-screen locations for films such as “Mekko”, “Heartland”, “Element” and “The Outsiders”.
