Gloss Mountain State Park is a treasured Oklahoma geological landmark located about an hour west of Enid in the rural town of Fairview. Known for a high Selenite gypsum content that mimics a shiny glass exterior, the Gloss Mountains are sometimes also called the Glass Mountains. Gloss Mountain State Park offers a bird’s eye view of the surrounding red dirt prairie landscape and valley, which is dotted with sparse green shrubbery, rocky terrain and native wildlife. This film-friendly location has helped set the scene for several productions, including the Starz television series “American Gods” and the forthcoming “The Jurassic Games”, which will make its world premiere this June at Oklahoma City’s deadCenter Film Festival.
