Featured Location for December 2019: Will Rogers Memorial Museum

Sitting atop 20 acres of beautiful rolling hills in the City of Claremore, the Will Rogers Memorial Museum celebrates the life and legacy of Will Rogers, one of Oklahoma’s most treasured entertainers and a world-renowned icon. During his legendary career in the 1930s, Will Rogers was undoubtedly one of the most recognized actors and personalities in the country. Honoring his legacy, the museum houses the world’s largest collection of Will Rogers’ memorabilia as well as one-of-a-kind movie posters, movie stills books, world-class paintings, sculptures, artifacts and his entire collection of writings. The property’s outdoor gardens feature Rogers’ tomb where much of his family is also interred. In addition to standard museum exhibition spaces, the property also includes a theatre, library, office space and a dedicated children’s area. This film-friendly location recently hosted the inaugural Will Rogers Motion Picture Festival, which celebrated Rogers’ 140th birthday while showcasing the work of up-and-coming filmmakers, including many of Oklahoma’s talented artists.
