Featured Location for August 2017: POPS

POPS is an iconic attraction located along Route 66, aka “The Mother Road”, located in Arcadia just east of Edmond. Since 2007, POPS has offered travelers a number of amenities, including delicious menu items from their classic diner as well as over 700 kinds of soda, sparkling waters and other ice-cold refreshments from their gas station and shopping mart. Its unique, ultra-modern architectural design of red rock and steel trusses is a draw for visitors from across the nation, and has even won its design firm, Elliott + Associates, a number of awards. In addition to its unique design, POPS features a four-ton, 66-foot sculpture of a soda bottle covered in dazzling, multi-colored LED lights, recalling the historic nostalgia of Route 66. This film-friendly location has appeared in numerous television, documentary and film productions, including “Bringing Up Bobby” (2011) and “A Mother’s Escape” (formerly “Great Plains”) (2017), which were produced in Oklahoma utilizing the state’s film incentive program.
