“Asking For It” Wraps Production in Oklahoma

Asking For It, LLC, in association with The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), is pleased to announce that the feature film “Asking For It” has completed filming in Oklahoma after over a month of filming in the City of Guthrie.

“Asking For It” is a character driven revenge thriller that stars and is produced by Kiersey Clemons. The City of Guthrie served as the main production hub for the film, which heavily collaborated with local community members and supported businesses, such as The Pollard Inn, Stacy’s Place, Hoboken Coffee Roasters, and more. When asked about the experience of filming in Oklahoma, actor/producer Clemons enthusiastically said, “Guthrie, that’s what’s up!”

“It was a privilege to have ‘Asking For It’ filmed in Guthrie America. Not only did the production have a positive economic impact with the entire crew staying here for five weeks, but they were also fun to work with,” said Tracy Zserdin, President and CEO of the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce. “It is always enjoyable to see major Hollywood stars enjoy our community by attending local events and supporting our businesses. We look forward to the success of the project.”

The production, which utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by OF+MO, employed over 75 local cast and crew as well as approximately 100 local extras.

“This film is a great example of how our state’s growing film industry continues to provide jobs for Oklahoma cast and crew,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “The state’s film involvement has grown tremendously in the past few years, and we’re excited to see more out-of-state films travel to Oklahoma because of our beautiful locations and experienced workers. We’re very thankful this diverse production found a home in Oklahoma, and additionally grateful to the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce, the City of Guthrie and the amazing city leaders and community members for welcoming them with such open arms.”
