Production Assistant Film and TV – Cherokee Nation Business

The Cherokee Nation Business is seeking a Production Assistant for Film and TV.

Job Description

Assist leadership in managing the production of the docu-series Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People and other documentaries and video content to ensure smooth execution of production processes. Perform a variety of tasks for content delivery team, including but not limited to, ordering supplies, making deliveries, maintaining content archives and libraries and assisting with vendor communication and invoicing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Delivers all episodes to TV stations weekly.
  • Creates and distributes traffic sheets.
  • Assists with invoicing, transcription and encoding contract communications and processing.
  • Preps and maintains inventory of production equipment.
  • Assists with on set production shoots as needed.
  • Intakes and processes images for production.
  • Maintains, organizes and audits files, documents, talent and location releases and digital media archives.
  • Inputs inventory data to small prop and costume catalog.
  • Organizes and maintains research library.
  • Drives fleet vehicles as needed.
  • Orders and maintains office, breakroom and on-set supplies or services.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Video Production, Communications or related field and 1-2 years’ experience working in production or in the film industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of industry terminology and processes.
  • Advanced Knowledge in Mac OS systems.
  • Knowledge of tribal cultures, divisions and programs preferred.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure effective workflow and customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently on multiple projects, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment focused on overall success.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, have a reliable work ethic and a professional appearance.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism while directly dealing with all levels of staff, clients and the general public.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled offices and/or outdoors in all types of weather. Work will require working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. Work will require travel, including overnight stays. Work may require lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs.
