Film Artist for May 2020: Katherine Silva

Katherine Silva has been working in the film industry for 10 years as a production accountant. Her first job was as an accounting intern on Terrence Malick’s “To the Wonder”, which filmed in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, in 2010. Her experience on this production led to numerous, incredible opportunities in the film industry working on a range of productions from Hallmark Christmas movies to blockbusters like “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”.

Silva has been a great supporter of the Oklahoma film industry having lent her accounting skills to a number of local films, including “Cowgirls ‘n Angels”, “Te Ata”, “Forsaken” and “Run with the Hunted”.

“Oklahoma is my home and I love that there are more and more opportunities coming to the Oklahoma film industry. It’s very exciting to see the growth here,” she said. “I have met so many great people working on movies in Oklahoma, and I love the community that comes with our industry. Working hard and long hours in a fast paced environment really calls for team effort and support, and I have found that with the crews here in Oklahoma.”
