Originally from Collinsville, Oklahoma, Jacob Campbell attended the University of Oklahoma (OU) where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Media Studies.
Campbell started as a production assistant on “Street Outlaws” before moving onto feature films such as “Southern Tale”, “Starbright” and “Camp Cold Brook”. Most recently, Campbell’s credits include productions such as “The Bygone”, “To the Stars” and “Run with the Hunted”, the latter of which wrapped principal photography in Tulsa last month with Campbell serving as Assistant Production Office Coordinator (APOC). All of these films utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by OF+MO.
“I was always under the impression I’d have to leave the state to work in film, so the privilege is not lost on me whenever I step onto set right here in Oklahoma,” said Campbell. “I think film is a great way to showcase all the state has to offer that many people, even residents, have yet to discover.”
“The people I work with add to the experience, the blend of personalities make every day more enjoyable,” Campbell added. “Be it freezing cold or blistering hot, the local crew make the whole experience worthwhile. Above all else, I love the adventure of it. You never really know what to expect between the locations, weather, etc… One day, we may be shooting in a cave, the next in an abandoned school, and a few days later in downtown Oklahoma City. You may need to schedule a last minute flight or find a show turkey with three hours ‘til call. While it can be stressful, it is largely rewarding and, most importantly, fun.”
