Film Artist for June 2016: Temple Tucker

Temple Tucker is a Production Coordinator and 2nd AD from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She has spent the past 10 years working on film, commercial and reality television projects in the state. Tucker’s previous credits include “Rudderless”, “The Veil”, “Te Ata”, “Element” and most recently “The Scent of Rain and Lightning”.

“I’ve always felt incredibly fortunate that I was able to study filmmaking and work on movies in my hometown. The film community in Oklahoma is a fantastic collection of creative, talented and motivated young people who are not only amazing at their jobs but are also fun to work with. It truly is a film family, and I believe that’s special and unique to Oklahoma. ”

Tucker’s first foray into film was a videography class at her high school, Classen School of Advanced Studies, where she and some friends made a music video to Josie and the Pussycats. It was this class, combined with watching the works of Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze and countless marathons of her favorite movie “Jaws”, where Tucker knew she wanted to work in film.

“I love movies in particular because not only can you tell any story you want, in any way that you want, but you’re telling the story through multiple layers within the story itself. The music, wardrobe, set dressing, editing, lighting and cinematography are all informing the story in their own way while simultaneously telling the story as a whole.”

Tucker is currently working as 2nd AD on the feature film “Stillwater” and is excited to be working with old friends and making new ones. “I love working in the film industry because you’re collaborating with so many unique people who you may not have met otherwise who not only share your passion, but also your brand of crazy.”
