“The Veil” Announces North American Distribution

Following a frenzied vie for rights at this year’s American Film Market (AFM), High Octane Pictures announced that it has sold the North American rights for the sci-fi feature “The Veil” to Vertical Entertainment, who will release the film theatrically in 2017.

“We are excited to be in business with High Octane Pictures, Toy Gun Films and the rest of the team behind this unique sci-fi vision,” said Vertical Entertainment Co-President Rich Goldberg.

Starring Latin sensation William Levy (“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”), the cast also includes William Moseley (“Chronicles of Narnia”, “The Royals”), Serinda Swan (“Graceland”), Nick Tarabay (“Spartacus”), Adam Gregory (“90210”) and newcomer Christopher Levy (Levy’s son). The film was written by Jeff Goldberg and directed by Brent Ryan Green.

“‘The Veil’ has been an ambitious labor of love over the last three years, so to partner with a leading distributor like Vertical Entertainment for my feature directorial debut is a dream come true,” said Green. Adding, “The cast and crew worked tirelessly on bringing a very personal vision to life, and I am looking forward to sharing it with audiences worldwide.”

Set in a war-town land where tribal factions live in a perpetual state of fear, the film tells the story of a warrior spearheading a destructive war campaign. When he is betrayed by his own and left for dead, a mysterious princess of an unknown tribe finds and heals him, and sets out to persuade him to wage one final battle.

Green makes his feature directorial debut with “The Veil” on the heels of his latest project producing Martin Scorsese’s “Silence”, which has garnered early awards chatter and festival circuit praise.

“The Veil” was shot entirely in Oklahoma and utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO). A number of the state’s most scenic and diverse locations were represented on-screen including Turner Falls, Red Rock Canyon State Park and the Wichita Buffalo Ranch.

“Our office wishes to congratulate Brent Ryan Green on his company’s distribution deal for ‘The Veil’ through Vertical Entertainment”, said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “We’re thrilled this compelling film will further promote our state’s incentive program and allow audiences in North America to see and experience our state’s local talent and scenic locations on screen.”

Premiere Entertainment is handling all international sales for the title. For more information on “The Veil”, please visit theveilfilm.com.
