Annual post-Woodyfest Concert
July 17 | 7:00 PM$25 - $30
Don Conoscenti and Radoslav Lorchovic have played at the Old Church before — Don at the post-Woodyfest showing in 2014 and Rad with Jimmy LaFave a few times, including just last October — but not as headliners at our post-Woodyfest concert which is odd given that they are both regulars in Okemah.
Once a die-hard rocker, Don is one of the most respected musicians and acclaimed songwriters in acoustic music having written and played with our friends the Red Dirt Rangers along with a who’s who of music from around the World. NPR, World Café and Acoustic Café have all spotlighted his music and he has played some of the top venues and festivals including the Kerrville Folk Festival, The Troubadour and The Kennedy Center.
Rad is also a gifted musician best known for his piano and accordion playing, but he can play just about anything with keys or even strings drawing from influences ranging from elegant classical and jazz styles to the rawest, most basic blues, country and soul. His 30-year career has culminated in five critically acclaimed solo recordings and numerous appearances on the recordings of and performances with artists including Odetta, Jimmy LaFave, Ellis Paul, Ronny Cox, Dave Moore and Bo Ramsey.
They will be joined by the legendary Nancy Apple and Rob McNurlin — two fine performers in vein of Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Elvis — yes, that Elvis. It’s going going to one fine night!
Tickets for this Monday night show are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. This show is also included in the season ticket package.
