Thunderbird Drone Festival

The second annual Thunderbird Drone Festival is Oklahoma’s first and only drone film festival and drone technology event. Taking place August 12 & 13, 2022 in Woodward, Oklahoma, the in-person event offers a film festival for drone filmmakers from all over the world to showcase their work across various categories. The films featured in the festival will be hand-selected by a professional jury. Prizes will be awarded and attendees will celebrate together at an after party.

The festival will take place at the historic and charming Woodward Arts Theatre. The theatre is restored from the 1920’s and regularly hosts film festivals, plays, recitals, and concerts. All filmmakers selected for the festival will receive free passes if they choose to attend. And we encourage you to attend! Woodward is located in the Northwest part of Oklahoma. This area is full of western history, wide open spaces (perfect for flying drones), and beautiful sunsets.

The festival will also feature a juried scavenger hunt we call ScavenDrone. ScavenDrone will feature an Oklahoma and US/International category to enter. Various prizes will be awarded for the best image. Find more details on how to enter ScavenDrone our website.

The second day of the festival will feature various drone seminars, panels, and classes on everything drone industry. There will also be exciting FPV races and demonstrations.
