The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), in partnership with the City of Chandler, proudly announces that Chandler has achieved film friendly certification after fulfilling the requirements of OF+MO’s Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program.
“Chandler is a hospitable community that supports artistic endeavors, especially the extraordinary creativity found in the film industry,” said Chandler City Manager Jason Orr. “Our citizens have eagerly contributed many hours and resources to previous film projects, and that spirit will always be the Chandler way.”
Located along Route 66 in Lincoln County, Chandler boasts a vibrant history and an array of attractions that appeal to filmmakers. The city’s historic downtown features brick streets, vintage storefronts and cultural landmarks, such as the Route 66 Interpretive Center and the Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History as well as the nearby Route 66 Bowl and historic Lincoln Motel. Chandler is also home to beautiful outdoor spaces, including Bell Cow Lake, which offers scenic views and recreational activities. The city has already hosted several productions, including most recent films such “Out of Exile,” “Agnes,” “Anywhere” and “Reverence.” The new certification will help the city continue to attract film and television projects, further bolstering its local economy and increasing community engagement.
“It’s a wonderful full-circle moment for the City of Chandler to achieve film friendly certification after first attending one of our program’s educational workshops earlier this year,” said OF+MO Director Jeanette Stanton. “We applaud the City of Chandler for their proactive approach to fostering the film and television industry within their community and region, and we look forward to the collaborative future ahead with their support.”
