The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), a division of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, is proud to be a partner of the Oklahoma City 48 Hour Film Project, which recently held its annual filmmaking competition, and will soon premiere this year’s local entries and announce award honorees over the next several weeks.
A global event that happens in more than 100 cities throughout the year, the 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP) is the world’s oldest and largest filmmaking competition which challenges filmmakers to create short films over the course of a weekend. The Oklahoma City chapter of 48HFP was created in 2011 and has been a staple of the Oklahoma film community ever since.
“The Oklahoma Film + Music Office’s sponsorship of the Oklahoma City 48 Hour Film Project is invaluable,” said Oklahoma City 48 Hour Film Project City Producer Jordan Wilson. “Their support not only nurtures local talent but also fosters a vibrant creative community for all Oklahomans, both in and out of the film industry. This partnership empowers filmmakers to bring their visions to life, showcasing the state’s commitment to artistic innovation and cultural enrichment.”
As part of its partnership, OF+MO will help present the world premiere of this year’s qualifying films at the OKC 48 Hour Film Project Premiere Screenings to be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Harkins Theatres Bricktown in Oklahoma City. Films will screen in two blocks: Group A at 7 p.m. and Group B at 8:30 p.m.
Additionally, OF+MO will present two honors – Audience Choice Awards A and B – at the OKC 48-Hour Film Project Awards Ceremony to be held on Saturday, July 20, at 7 p.m. at Metro Technology Centers Springlake Campus in Oklahoma City. This event will also feature a screening of the five films nominated for “Best Film of OKC.”

Tickets are currently on sale for the OKC 48 Hour Project Premiere Screenings, and Award Ceremony tickets will be available beginning July 1, 2024, on the event’s website.
