OF+MO proudly represented the state’s film and music industries by participating for the first time in the LocationExpo at the 2018 American Film Market (AFM). As the world’s largest motion picture business event, AFM annually attracts over 7,000 attendees to Santa Monica for eight days of deal-making, screenings, conferences, networking and more as filmmakers seek distribution for their projects. An official component of AFM, the four-day LocationExpo affords film commissions and other film agencies the opportunity to directly market their film incentives and infrastructure to the international audience of filmmakers, producers, distributors and other industry personnel in attendance. A number of film productions made in Oklahoma utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program were among this year’s AFM selections including “The Adventures of Jurassic Pet”, “The Turkey Bowl” and “Wake Up”.
While attending AFM, OF+MO hosted the fourth annual Okie Round-Up event at The Craftsman Bar & Kitchen in Santa Monica. This event brought together Oklahoma expatriates (former residents) now living and working in the film, television and music industries in the Los Angeles area. OF+MO was able to connect with many talented industry professionals and further promote the state’s film incentive program, which continues to grow the overall film and music industries in Oklahoma. The added benefit of hosting our event during AFM was allowing our expatriates to connect with many of our active and potential clients who have either brought film productions to Oklahoma or are considering future business in our state.
