Innovation Insight: Cherokee Nation Film Office

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office’s “Innovation Insight” series profiles a variety of Oklahoma film and music professionals who have found creative ways to continue their craft or businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue adjusting in these uncharted waters, our creatives around the state continue finding innovative ways to use technology and we agree with their mindset: “The show must go on”.

WATCH A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM JENNIFER LOREN, DIRECTOR OF CNFO

November’s Innovation Insight features the Cherokee Nation Film Office (CNFO) who is devoted to helping strengthen and grow the film industry in Oklahoma. CNFO is helping advance filmmaking in Oklahoma through a number of initiatives, and remains committed to increasing the presence of Native Americans in every level of the film and television industries. These efforts include traditional film commission recruiting, educational opportunities to grow the crew base and events that unify our community such as the “stay at home” OklaHomies Short Film Contest in partnership with OF+MO and the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture earlier this year. CNFO also supports existing filmmakers and local events through sponsorships helping to amplify Oklahoma and Native film. Established in 2019, CNFO is making large investments in the film industry, which will advance and enhance Oklahoma as a filming destination. Stay tuned for announcements from CNFO to help revolutionize our industry.
